Formulated by its catchy drumbeats and memorable chorus tag-lines, Unknown Component’s album Separately Connected is so much more than just another twelve track pop-rock album. Written and recorded by Keith Lynch, the songs of Unknown Component consist of lyrics that contain a poetic honesty that is heartfelt and real in its portrayal of emotions tied to reality. Most of the musical aspects of the album come off with a computer generated sound, but are well paired and appropriately matched to Keith’s pop lyrics and ghostly echoed vocals. Although the sound quality on this one is sub par to that of most artists making this album a likely home recording, it is an admittedly superb one at that talent wise. Particular stand out tracks include the enticing Ulterior Motive and the eerie Alone With Your Mistakes, both of which satisfy the whole way through with lyrical lines that stick and drum beats that get you going. On the down side, I must admit that it seemed as though the album started off slightly stronger than it finished, but, all things considered, the work of artist Keith Lynch and his alter ego Unknown Component is rather outstanding in its musical quality and stands as a talent worth watching in the future. |
