 Folks, this is one of the many perks of opperating a world famous website such as THE BIGGEST LETDOWN - you get to review music that isn’t available yet. I’ve been waiting until the right moment to sit down and type up a good enough review for you all on Unknown Component’s upcoming album because I know that you all expect great things from me. If you didn’t, why would you come to a website called THE BIGGEST LETDOWN?
IN DIRECT COMMUNICATION will be available for you to buy on September 16th of this year. That means you have a little more than a month before you can get this CD (or download all of the songs from their website) for yourselves. Trust me, folks, it’s worth the wait. For those of you unaware of Unknown Component, they’ve got a cool, mellow folky/rocky sort of sound. Think about good DINOSAUR JR, SONIC YOUTH, or RADIOHEAD or any of the awesome bands you listened to in the 90s. Unknown Component gives me hope that bands can understand how to write entertaining and mellow songs at the same time again. This is definately the type of music that I can play over and over again in my stereo while sitting around my house when I’m trying to relax. Some of the tracks on this CD that stick out are RETROSPECTIVELY SPEAKING, IDENTIFYING INTERPRETATION, NEVER CEASES TO REMAIN UNCHANGED and THE INCONSISTENT SYSTEM. I’m not trying to blow smoke up your asses when I say that I like this CD. It’s really good. So, do yourselves a favor and check out Unknown Component’s Website to get yourselves prepared for a great band and great album coming out in September. |
