Lyrics

It’s an aggravation, it’s the lack of space in a darkened hall
And in a strange fixation, there’s a line to trace with no one to call
It’s the moment that this consciousness has mapped
In the city, screaming, loosening its grasp
And the only way to elevate or change is to cauterize the feeling that remains
The shadows in the rain, it’s the pleasure and the pain, the feeling that remains
The soldier haunted by the act, a suit and tie to match the mask
And when the concrete finally cracks, this is the burden on their backs
It’s a complication, it’s the full-blown rage at a shopping mall
And in a congregation, it’s the smiling face on a thrift store doll
It’s the moment that this consciousness has mapped
In the city, screaming, loosening its grasp
And the only way to elevate or change is to cauterize the feeling that remains
The shadows in the rain, it’s the pleasure and the pain, the feeling that remains
The only question left to ask, is where to find the pathway back
For if in life we seem to lack, upon the mind the power acts
